Baseball Recap: North Branch Triumphs

After losing to Almont the last time they met, North Branch decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Broncos walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Raiders on Wednesday.

North Branch saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Jerome, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI. Noah Wright also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

North Branch's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Almont, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-9.

North Branch and Almont could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Broncos (ranked 342nd) will meet Carlson (ranked 92nd) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Almont will face off against Yale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (245 vs. 98).
