Soccer Recap: Carthage Comes Up Short

After flying high against Monett on Monday, Carthage came back down to earth. Carthage lost 5-0 to Republic on Tuesday. If Carthage was looking for revenge after losing 5-0 to Republic when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The loss snapped Carthage's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-9 record. As for Republic, they pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carthage will challenge Lebanon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Republic, they will face off against Willard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Willard will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Republic surely won't give up without a fight.
