Walnut Grove had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They walked away with a 65-53 victory over the McKinney North Bulldogs. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 455th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Walnut Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Parker Evanson, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. The game was Evanson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Brooks, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points.

Walnut Grove pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for McKinney North, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walnut Grove will host Anna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKinney North, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Melissa at 7:00 p.m. McKinney North has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
