Basketball Game Preview: Friends Academy Quakers vs. North Shore Vikings

Friends Academy has gone 10-0 against North Shore recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Friends Academy Quakers are taking a road trip to square off against the North Shore Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, Friends Academy greeted the New Year with with a 63-44 victory over Wheatley. The Quakers pushed the score to 50-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Friends Academy found their leader in sophomore Chase O'Brien, who posted 18 points and eight boards. What's more, O'Brien also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Jaxon Saulter was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Friends Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, North Shore's undefeated season came to an end after three games two weeks ago. They came up short against Harrison, falling 81-55. The loss was the Vikings' first of the season.

Friends Academy pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for North Shore, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Friends Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against North Shore in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, but they still walked away with a 55-49 victory.
