Softball Recap: Everett Alvarez Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Everett Alvarez won against Scotts Valley last Tuesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Everett Alvarez Eagles beat the Milpitas Trojans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Dani Amendola spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Everett Alvarez saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michelle Wallace, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Everett Alvarez pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.38 runs across that stretch. As for Milpitas, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Everett Alvarez will square off against San Mateo at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Milpitas, they will be playing at home against Los Altos at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Los Altos is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
