Basketball Recap: Jerren White Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lakeside

Citrus Hill won the last time they faced Lakeside and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Citrus Hill Hawks came out on top against the Lakeside Lancers by a score of 60-49. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Citrus Hill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jerren White, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. White is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 26 games he's played dating back to last season. Kason Steward was another key player, going 6 of 12 on his way to 12 points.

Citrus Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Lakeside still got an impressive performance from Maurice Turner, who went 10 for 16 en route to 23 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Lim, who posted eight points.

Citrus Hill's record now sits at 14-9. As for Lakeside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Citrus Hill will welcome Paloma Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Citrus Hill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.5 points per game this season. As for Lakeside, they will host Vista del Lago at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeside also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 53.5 points per game.
