Russell came tearing into Tuesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Plainville Cardinals as they made off with a 20-4 win. Considering the Broncos have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Griffin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four games. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Jared Ford was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sam Thielen, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Russell's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Plainville, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
