Baseball Game Preview: Bob Jones Patriots vs. Grissom Tigers

Bob Jones has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Grissom has won five straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. Bob Jones will host Grissom at 11:00 a.m. Bob Jones' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Grissom's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, Bob Jones beat Sparkman 10-6. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Senators recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Grissom got themselves on the board against Guntersville on Thursday, but Guntersville never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Wildcats.

Dalton Dardin and Charlie Cassingham made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Dardin pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Cassingham didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Dardin has allowed over his last five contests. At the plate, Dardin went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Cassingham scored a run while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Stroble, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Grissom has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Bob Jones' victory bumped their record up to 21-7.

Bob Jones beat Grissom 4-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Bob Jones repeat their success, or does Grissom has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
