Everything went their way against the La Vernia Bears on Tuesday as the Davenport Wolves made off with an 18-8 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their two-run performance the game before.
KINLEY Keller was a standout: she fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Abbi Brandes also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Keller wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Davenport lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Davenport has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5-1 record this season. With the defeat, La Vernia broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-4.
Coming up, Davenport will face off against Navarro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
