Baseball Recap: University Academy Charter/Kauffman Gryphons vs. Washington Wildcats
University Academy Charter/Kauffman took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They skirted past the Washington Wildcats 7-6.
Joseph Carter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Carter was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Marquise Byers and Christopher Nolan did most of the damage at the plate: Byers went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Nolan scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Washington is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
University Academy Charter/Kauffman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Washington, they will welcome Harmon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
