Softball Recap: Attica Find Success

While Attica's victory against South Newton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Ramblers won by a run and slipped past the Rebels 3-2. The Red Ramblers haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Anni Reynolds spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Joslyn Barnett was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Beck, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Attica now has a winning record of 3-2. As for South Newton, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Attica will venture away from home to take on Clinton Prairie at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Newton, they will welcome Faith Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
