Baseball Recap: Willamina Bulldogs vs. Elmira Falcons
Willamina extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the Elmira Falcons, falling 19-4. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 13-5 to the Falcons when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Bob Larsen made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
As for Elmira, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
On Elmira's side, they got a massive performance out of LUKE BERRY, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of TREYSON WASAK, who went 2-for-4 with four runs and one RBI.
Willamina didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 29-0 loss against Gaston on the 30th. As for Elmira, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Junction City on the 31st.
