Football Recap: Thomasville Comes Up Short

The Thomasville Bulldogs ended up a good deal behind the Western Guilford Hornets on Friday and lost 28-14. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly 14 points.

It was another big night for Timothy (Tim) Baker, who rushed for 158 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.9 yards per carry for Western Guilford. Baker's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 126 rushing yards. Clarence (CJ) Blevins was another key rusher, rushing for 60 yards and one score.

This is the second loss in a row for Thomasville and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Western Guilford, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomasville will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on North Moore at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for Western Guilford, they will welcome Ben L. Smith at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Hornets their first taste of in-conference action this season.
