Baseball Recap: Mesa Takes a Loss

Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 16-6 to the Westwood Warriors. That's two games in a row now that the Jackrabbits have lost by exactly ten runs.

Hunter Brooks was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carlos Otero, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Westwood, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

Coming up, Mesa will challenge Gilbert at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Gilbert will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Mesa surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westwood, they will take on Skyline at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
