Volleyball Game Preview: Plainfield Panthers vs. Bacon Academy Bobcats + How To Watch

Plainfield hasn't had much luck against Bacon Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. Plainfield will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Friday, Plainfield had just enough and edged out Killingly 3-2.

Plainfield was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 23-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-13.

Plainfield had a senior duo take command as Paige Sears had 38 assists and 22 digs and Shae Valentin had 40 digs and one assist. Sears has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 17 times she's played. Makayla Banas was another key player, getting 12 digs.

Plainfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. They are 9-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bacon Academy duked it out with Norwich Free Academy on Thursday. The Bobcats fell 3-1 to the Wildcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Bobcats in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost six in a row.

The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 25-12, 25-14.

Bacon Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Plainfield, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
