Softball Recap: Baboquivari Takes a Loss

Baboquivari extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They came up short against the Valley Union Blue Devils, falling 22-4. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Valley Union's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Valley Union's part, the team relied heavily on Yahirtza Ibarra, who went 2-for-3 with six RBI and three runs. Jolene Larson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.

Coming up, Baboquivari will challenge Fort Thomas at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valley Union has already played their next matchup (against San Simon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
