Baseball Recap: Westmont Takes a Loss

After flying high against Rochelle Zell Jewish on Thursday, Westmont came back down to earth. Westmont lost 12-2 to the Lutheran Crusaders on Friday.

Westmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rocco Damato, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Alex Meyer also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Westmont has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-3-1 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Lutheran and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Westmont will challenge Mendota at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lutheran, they will face off against Richmond-Burton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lutheran is facing Richmond-Burton at the right time seeing as Richmond-Burton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
