Softball Recap: Monroe Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Monroe took on Snohomish on Friday. The Bearcats fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in March.

Monroe saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tenny Oylear, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Monroe and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Snohomish, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Monroe and Snohomish should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Bearcats (ranked 81st) will meet Marysville-Pilchuck (ranked 237th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Snohomish will face off against Marysville Getchell at 4:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (16 vs. 227).
