Recap: Granite Hills Eagles vs. Mission Viejo Diablos
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Granite Hills Eagles can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Diablos on the road and fell 49-21. Granite Hills' defeat signaled the end of their 21-game winning streak dating back to last season.
Despite the loss, Granite Hills still got an impressive performance from Pablo Jackson, who rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Mission Viejo can attribute much of their success to Luke Fahey, who threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Hinesward. Lilomaiava. and his 81 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Mission Viejo's victory.
Granite Hills' loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-1. As for Mission Viejo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Granite Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mission Viejo will take on De La Salle at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. De La Salle is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
