Football Game Preview: Paradise Panthers vs. Malakoff Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Paradise Panthers face off against the Malakoff Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday... Paradise will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Paradise is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Shallowater 33-15. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their ten-point performance the match before.

Ayden Winters went supernova for Paradise, rushing for 178 yards, while also throwing for 142 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Those 178 rushing yards gave Winters a new career-high. Elijah Jennings also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Winters was just one part of a punishing run game: Paradise was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 286 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards in 11 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, while Malakoff put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Liberty-Eylau. Malakoff blew past Liberty-Eylau 35-0. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Malakoff had a senior duo take command as Mike Jones rushed for 154 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.6 yards per carry and Jason Tennyson rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Jones posted at least 102 rushing yards in the fifth games prior.

Malakoff pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.7 points. As for Paradise, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.

Thursday's match might be decided in the on the ground. Paradise has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 220.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Malakoff struggles in that department as they've been averaging 280.7 rushing yards. It's looking like Thursday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
