Soccer Recap: Central Columbia Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Central Columbia has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They lost 4-1 to the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers on Thursday. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Central Columbia couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Gaige Gensemer, who's now up to 15 this season.

Central Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Northwestern Lehigh, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Central Columbia and Northwestern Lehigh should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Bluejays will challenge Bloomsburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (30 vs. 400). Meanwhile, Northwestern Lehigh (ranked 45th) will meet Lehighton (ranked 493rd) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
