Elizabeth came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Pueblo East Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Cardinals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Aurelia Espinoza was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Elizabeth let Faith Carlson and Braelyn Allison run wild. Carlson went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Allison went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Carlson has posted since back in August of 2024. Brynley Twiss was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI.

Elizabeth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pueblo East only posted an OBP of .077.

Elizabeth's record now sits at 12-2. As for Pueblo East, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elizabeth will challenge Mitchell at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pueblo East, they will face off against Pueblo Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
