Recap: Lausanne Collegiate Lynx vs. Northpoint Christian Trojans
The Lausanne Collegiate Lynx had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They managed a 27-21 win over Northpoint Christian. That's another feather in the cap for Lausanne Collegiate, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lausanne Collegiate found their leader in underclassman Tj Jenkins, who rushed for 98 yards on only eight carries, and also threw for 98 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Wilson and his 117 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Lausanne Collegiate's win.
Northpoint Christian's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Patterson, who threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns.
Lausanne Collegiate's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Even more impressive is the teams they beat to make that streak: Northpoint Christian, Memphis Business Academy, and Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering. As for Northpoint Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Lausanne Collegiate will be playing in front of their home fans against University School of Jackson on Friday. As for Northpoint Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Evangelical Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evangelical Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 219th in Tennessee, while Northpoint Christian is ranked 55th in Mississippi).
