Baseball Recap: Chico's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Chico put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Del Norte. The Chico Panthers were the clear victor by a 13-0 margin over the Del Norte Warriors. Fans of the Panthers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Chico got a great performance from Vinny Boatwright as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Jaden Neugebauer was a standout: he scored three runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Carter Miles, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Chico always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del Norte only posted an OBP of .062.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Del Norte, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Chico wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-2 victory against Pleasant Valley on the 8th. As for Del Norte, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 win against Lassen on the 7th.
