With a playoff win on the line, China Spring rose to the challenge on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Lumberton Raiders. Considering the Cougars have won 20 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Hinojosa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Greyson Brooks and Jackson Fetters did most of the damage at the plate: Brooks went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Fetters went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Garrett Maddox was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: China Spring kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

China Spring has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 25 of their last 26 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Lumberton, their loss dropped their record down to 26-10-1.

China Spring will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
