Recap: Memorial Day Matadors vs. Coastal HomeSchool Hurricanes
The Memorial Day Matadors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. The game between Memorial Day and Coastal HomeSchool wasn't particularly close, with Memorial Day falling 71-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Coastal HomeSchool's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyrin Couvson, who scored 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Couvson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Eli Jenkins, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and four steals.
Memorial Day has fallen quite a ways from their 21-4 record last season and are now at 2-5. As for Coastal HomeSchool, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-10.
Memorial Day will head out on the road to square off against Claxton at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Coastal HomeSchool, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics at 4:00 p.m. Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
