Hickory took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Indian River Braves with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

While Hickory won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-19.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Hickory will square off against rival Grassfield at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Indian River is set to challenge their familiar foe Oscar Smith at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
