Soccer Recap: Seventy-First Falls to Purnell Swett in First Game of Season

Seventy-First kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Purnell Swett Rams, falling 10-1. If Seventy-First were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to Purnell Swett when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seventy-First will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against Whiteville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Purnell Swett, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against South Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on the 26th.
