The Miramonte Matadors will face off against the Northgate Broncos at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Miramonte will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Miramonte is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Mt. Diablo a 23-0 shutout on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Matadors in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won five in a row.

Casey Yung and Jonah Imberg made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Yung struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Imberg tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Yung also tossed no walks, which is notable because Miramonte is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-9 otherwise. At bat, Yung went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Imberg got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Imberg a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ian Hughes was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tanner Strand, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Miramonte was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Northgate posted their closest victory since February 28th on Thursday. They skirted past Las Lomas 3-2.
Northgate's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Torrey, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Miramonte's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Northgate, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Miramonte couldn't quite finish off Northgate in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 and fell 6-4. Can the Matadors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
