Football Recap: Tascosa's Punishing Run Game Keeps Rolling + How To Watch

Tascosa was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They took down the Monterey Plainsmen 35-21. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Rebels were the (much) better team in the second half.

It was another big night for Coltyn Fulton, who rushed for 218 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. Those 218 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Tascosa also got a significant boost from Traeson Elliott, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 96 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Tascosa was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 423 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 180 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Several Plainsmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quarren Q Boyd, who picked up 169 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Reed, who threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns.

Tascosa's record is now 5-2. As for Monterey, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Coincidentally, Tascosa and Monterey will both be playing Abilene the next time they take the field. The Rebels will host the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Plainsmen will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
