Baseball Recap: Salem Generals vs. Warrensburg Burgers

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Salem). They never let the Warrensburg Burgers get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Friday. The game was the first time the Generals have beaten the Burgers on their field since May 8, 2017.

Stephen Yakubec and Cooper Petell made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Yakubec pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Petell pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Salem is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise. At the plate, Yakubec got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Petell got on base in both of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
