Baseball Recap: Frontier Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Frontier can now relate to. They fell just short of the St. Joseph Knights by a score of 4-2 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Titans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Landon Nettles was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jaylen Tia and Landon McDonald stepped up to the plate in a big way. Tia went 1-for-3 with one home run, while McDonald went 2-for-3 with one home run. Frontier is 7-2 when Tia posts one or more home runs, but 9-11 otherwise.

Frontier's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-13. As for St. Joseph, their victory bumped their record up to 22-6.

As of now, neither Frontier nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
