Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sara Rosko and Elliot Leffler Lead Roncalli to Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Roncalli had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Beech Grove Hornets with a sharp 62-38 win. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Roncalli was led to victory by Elliot Leffler and Sara Rosko. Leffler went 7 of 14 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds, while Rosko went 7 for 16 to rack up 15 points and three steals. Leffler continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Stahley, who went 5 for 8 en route to 11 points and six boards.

Roncalli was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beech Grove only posted three assists.

Beech Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mylee Boling, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. Mariyah Marshall was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards.

Roncalli's record now sits at 15-8. As for Beech Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

Roncalli has already played their next contest, a 59-48 win against New Palestine on the 8th. Beech Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
