Volleyball Game Preview: Springville Red Devils vs. Timpview Thunderbirds

The Springville Red Devils will square off against the Timpview Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Springville will be strutting in after a win while Timpview will be coming in after a loss.

Springville took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Salem Hills. The win was some much needed relief for the Red Devils as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

The victory didn't come easy: Salem Hills scored at least 22 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 26-28, 25-23, 27-25.

Meanwhile, Timpview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against Spanish Fork, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 25-21.

Timpview's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Springville, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Everything went Springville's way against Timpview when the teams last played back in March, as Springville made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
