Basketball Recap: Bell Comes Up Short

After soaring to 56 points the game before, Bell was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They had to suffer through a 61-29 loss at the hands of the Lafayette Hornets. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Lafayette was led to victory by Tywan Williamson and Jamarcus Smith. Williamson posted 17 points in addition to five assists and five boards, while Smith dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Smith continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadarius McQuay, who had 11 points.

Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lafayette, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Bell and Riverside Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lafayette, they are taking a road trip to take on Baker County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
