Soccer Game Preview: Twinsburg vs. Solon

The Twinsburg Tigers will take on the Solon Comets in a tournament on Saturday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

While Twinsburg's victory against Mayfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 2-1 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for Twinsburg in their matchups with Mayfield: they've now won four in a row.

Braden Holdford and Mario Sanders scored both of Twinsburg's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, Solon narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past North 2-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Solon's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 74th, while North are ranked 265th).

Solon's win bumped their record up to 11-5-1. As for Twinsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3-2.

Twinsburg beat Solon by a goal in their previous meeting back in September, winning 2-1. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
