Handley extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-10. They came up short against the Sherando Warriors, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-1 back in March.

Handley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madyson Thacker, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. Thacker is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
As for Sherando, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
On Sherando's side, Lilian Wray was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Wray was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Sophia Zimmerman was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leighanne Lowe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Handley will challenge Rock Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Phoenix have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.22 runs per game on average), something the Judges will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sherando, they will take on Warren County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
