Baseball Recap: Forest Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Forest's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Trinity Catholic Celtics on Tuesday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Jackson Owen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Forest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Schoncheck, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Trinity Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinity Catholic, they will take on Union County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
