North Central hadn't done well against Chesterfield recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Knights walked away with a 7-2 win over the Golden Rams. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mackenzie Melton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aubrey Taylor was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

North Central's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Chesterfield, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12-1.

As of now, neither North Central nor the Golden Rams have any future games scheduled.
