Basketball Recap: King's Ridge Christian Takes a Loss

King's Ridge Christian was the 43-19 winner over Whitefield Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The King's Ridge Christian Tigers were dealt an 81-38 loss at the hands of the Whitefield Academy WolfPack on Tuesday. The Tigers were down 56-34 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Whitefield Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hailey Houlder, who went 8 for 17 en route to 26 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. Houlder has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last 21 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amelia Newman, who went 11 of 16 on her way to 28 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

King's Ridge Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Whitefield Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-9.

King's Ridge Christian has already played their next matchup (against Mount Pisgah Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Whitefield Academy will take on St. Francis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
