Softball Recap: Glenn Comes Up Short

Glenn fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Tippecanoe Valley on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 5-4. The Falcons' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

McKenzie Timm spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Payton Thomas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run. Addi Manering was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Glenn now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Tippecanoe Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glenn will host Varsity Opponent at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pioneer at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
