Malad had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Soda Springs Cardinals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 on Wednesday.

The team relied heavily on Cale Briggs, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Malad is undefeated when Briggs posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Holdyn Higley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Malad hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.

Malad pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Soda Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8-1.
