Softball Recap: Case's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Case entered their tilt with Old Rochester Regional on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 24-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Cailyn Durand made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up a single earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Breanna Fontes was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Olivia Williams was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Case was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .622. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Case's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Old Rochester Regional, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Case will welcome Dighton-Rehoboth Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Old Rochester Regional, they will take on Bourne at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Canalmen at the right time seeing as the Canalmen are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
