Basketball Game Preview: Round Rock Dragons vs. Clemens Buffaloes

The Round Rock Dragons will be taking part in a tournament against the Clemens Buffaloes at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Round Rock will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Round Rock didn't have too much trouble with Hutto as they won 53-38. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Hippos are ranked 717th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clemens). They secured an 87-82 W over San Marcos on Friday.

Clemens found their leader in freshman Bryson Bell, who posted 31 points. Quentin Proctor was another key player, putting up 24 points.

Round Rock pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Clemens, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Round Rock came up short against Clemens when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 49-45. Can Round Rock avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
