Basketball Recap: Whitesboro Gets the Win

Whitesboro hadn't done well against Red Oak recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Whitesboro Bulldogs had just enough and edged the Red Oak Eagles out 48-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since February 2, 2024.

Whitesboro's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.7 points per game. As for Red Oak, they moved to 14-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Whitesboro and Red Oak should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. Whitesboro (ranked 99th) will meet Leflore (ranked 415th) at 6:30 p.m. on January 28th. Similarly, Red Oak will face off against Kinta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 194 places (81 vs. 275).
