Football Recap: Summertown Piles Up the Points Against Scotts Hill + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summertown). They breezed past the Scotts Hill Lions to the tune of 43-12 on Friday. The Eagles not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 35-0).

Among those leading the charge was Max Dillard, who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 73 yards and one TD on only five passes.

Dillard was just one part of a punishing run game: Summertown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in ten consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Summertown now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Scotts Hill, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Summertown will square off against Lewis County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Scotts Hill, they will challenge Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 10.4 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them.
