Fallston is a perfect 9-0 against Havre de Grace since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Cougars will face off against the Warriors. Fallston's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Havre de Grace's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Fallston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Harford Tech by a score of 8-4. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Cobras: they've now won four in a row.
The team relied heavily on Sara Frist, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Hornyak, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fallston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, Havre de Grace hadn't done well against Patterson Mill recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Warriors walked away with a 5-1 win over the Huskies.
Emma Bauer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Havre de Grace's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ryleigh Curry, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Havre de Grace now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Fallston, their record is now 17-6.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fallston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .384. However, it's not like Havre de Grace struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fallston beat Havre de Grace 7-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
