Basketball Game Preview: St. Thomas More Sabers vs. Tolono Unity Rockets

The St. Thomas More Sabers are taking a road trip to take on the Tolono Unity Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Thomas More is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, St. Thomas More had to suffer through a 51-11 loss at the hands of Illinois Valley Central. While losing is never fun, the Sabers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 529th, while the Grey Ghosts are ranked 202nd).

Meanwhile, Tolono Unity came up short against Tuscola on Saturday and fell 44-33. The Rockets haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

St. Thomas More's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Tolono Unity, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

St. Thomas More lost to Tolono Unity on the road by a decisive 53-35 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Thankfully for St. Thomas More, Raegen Stringer (who went 8 of 19 en route to 22 points along with seven boards and four steals) won't be suiting up this time.
