Senior running back led Cherry Creek to sixth state title in the last seven years.

Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school football. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2025 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.

Jayden Fox of Cherry Creek (Greenwood Village) is the 2025 MaxPreps Colorado High School Football Player of the Year. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound senior running back led the Bruins to a 14-0 record and Class 5A state title.

For the season, Fox piled up 1,884 total yards and 28 touchdowns including nearly 1,700 rushing yards and 25 scores.

In a 56-28 win over Ralston Valley (Arvada) in the state championship game, Fox racked up 149 total yards and three touchdowns. He set the tone early with two rushing touchdowns to give Cherry Creek a 14-0 lead, then iced the game with a 40-yard score late in the third quarter.

Fox shined in two out-of-state matchups during the regular season. He led the Bruins to a 24-21 win over Florida state finalist Cardinal Mooney (Sarasota) with 225 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Against Utah semifinalist Skyridge (Lehi), Fox ran for a season-high 275 yards and three touchdowns in a 51-28 win

Fox posted 100-yard rushing games in both the state quarterfinals against Fairview (Boulder) and semifinals against Valor Christian (Highland Ranch)

A member of three state championship teams at Cherry Creek, Fox finished his career with over 4,000 rushing yards and 54 touchdowns.

Fox signed with UCLA last week after fielding more than a dozen Division I offers.

Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team.
