If Floodwood wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cook County, they should've done a better job of containing Parker Backstrom. The Vikings claimed a resounding 71-20 victory over the Polar Bears for which the team can thank Backstrom, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times he's played.

The win got Cook County back to even at 1-1. As for Floodwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cook County is set to challenge their familiar foe Carlton/Wrenshall at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Floodwood will take on rival Cromwell at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
